Guests Come for the Light Bites and Craft Cocktails and Stay for the Live Music

TAMPA, Fla. (June 22nd, 2026) The Dan, the Roaring Twenties-inspired eatery tucked inside Hotel Flor in the heart of downtown Tampa, is making its boldest statement yet; unveiling a new Happy Hour program, a refreshed dinner menu, and an expanded live music schedule that together cement its place as one of Tampa Bay’s most complete dining experiences.

Whether you’re sliding into a barstool at 4:00pm for happy hour bites or settling in for an upscale dinner, The Dan is building an evening worth savoring from start to finish.

Happy Hour: Sunday – Thursday 4:00pm – 6:00pm

The Dan’s happy hour invites guests to ease into the evening the right way. The new menu is built for sharing and settling in, Wagyu Beef Sliders bring three Wagyu patties on brioche buns with American cheese, 1000 Island dressing, and dill pickle, while Beef Empanadas arrive stuffed with sirloin and served with salsa roja. Chicken Wings, baked and gluten-free, come with celery, carrots, and ranch, and Fried Mozzarella Sticks with homemade marinara are exactly what a good happy hour calls for. Chips & Salsa ($9) rounds it out for the vegans at the table.

Add to that a cocktail program inspired by the golden age of mixology, the Champagne Cocktail (champagne, cognac, bitters, and cotton candy), the Bourbon Street Blues (bourbon, amaro, and Carpano Antica) and The Dan’s Happy Hour quickly becomes one of the most distinctive ways to spend a weekday evening in Tampa.

Wine Wednesday adds another reason to drop in mid-week: one glass of wine and a curated cheese board for $25, or two glasses and a cheese board for $30.

A New Dinner Menu Worth Staying For

The Dan’s updated dinner menu leans into the restaurant’s roots while pushing its culinary ambitions further. Starters set the tone with P.E.I. Mussels in garlic white wine herb butter with Cuban crostini, Deviled Eggs topped with applewood bacon and smoked paprika, and Gochujang Brussels Sprouts with Parmesan that has become a signature of the kitchen’s playful boldness.

Salads offer something for every palate, from the Tomato & Burrata with balsamic and herb oil to the bright Sunshine Salad with baby spinach, strawberries, feta, and champagne vinaigrette.

Entrees are where The Dan makes its fullest statement. A 12 oz. Ribeye arrives with Boursin whipped potatoes and red wine-herb demi, while the 7 oz. Filet Mignon and 12 oz. Dry Aged N.Y. Strip round out a steak program designed for the serious carnivore. For something unexpected, the Pasta Catalina layers ribeye, cheese tortellini, mushroom, asparagus, and marsala cream into a deeply satisfying bowl, and the Airline Chicken, bone-in white meat over Gouda polenta with truffle chili oil, has quickly become a table favorite.

The Dan’s updated dessert menu keeps the same spirit as the rest of the kitchen; familiar enough to be comforting, with enough intention to feel special. The new “Dan” Bread Pudding layers chocolate, marshmallow, caramel, vanilla, and strawberries, while the “Flor” Strawberry Shortcake nods to the restaurant’s Hotel Flor home with a bright mix of strawberry, lemon, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. The Chocolate Mousse with vanilla crème, strawberry, and candied pecan and the vegan and gluten-free Chocolate Torte with dark chocolate, vanilla crème, and strawberry further round the menu out in the most satisfying way.

Live Music: The Soundtrack to Your Evening

No element ties The Dan’s experience together quite like its live music. The venue hosts entertainment multiple nights per week, with Latin Night every Thursday from 6:00pm bringing energy and rhythm to the bar, and rotating jazz and acoustic acts on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Regular performers include Ode & Daya on Saturdays and jazz ensembles on select Fridays, while Sunday brunch, features Sinatra-inspired music from 11:00am – 2:00pm on select dates, offers a more leisurely way to experience the room. The Dan has live entertainment lined up every week in July 2026, with performances spanning morning, afternoon, and evening time slots.

The result is a venue with a different personality depending on when you walk through the door: the quiet sophistication of a Tuesday happy hour, the warmth of a Wednesday wine night, the pulse of Latin Thursday, the full swing of a Saturday with live music and a packed dining room.

The Dan has always been more than a place to eat. With a Happy Hour that rewards the early crowd, a dinner menu that has something to say, and live music running most nights of the week, it’s become the kind of spot that fits a Tuesday just as well as a Saturday; and that’s not easy to pull off.

Reservations for The Dan are recommended and can be made on OpenTable.
