Downtown Tampa’s New Restaurant “The Dan” to Open May 20th
1920’s-Inspired Restaurant to Debut this Spring with Soulful Gulf Coast Cuisine & Unique Handcrafted Cocktails
Tampa Bay, FLA (May 11th, 2023) – The Dan, a new restaurant in downtown Tampa is making its debut with a grand opening on Saturday, May 20th. Reservations will open to the restaurant the week leading up to the opening date so guests can reserve their spot to be among the first to experience the newly renovated space.
The Dan menu can be described as “Gulf coastal with soul”, dubbed by the restaurant’s Executive Chef. The cuisine will highlight both local ingredients and classic dishes, balancing current with the familiar. A variety of raw oysters, steaks, and local seafood will be featured with New Orleans accents to be found throughout. The menu will be released the week of May 15th.
The Dan’s cuisine will be brought to life by Executive Chef Will Artley. Executive Chef Artley emerges from Washington D.C., known to be “one of the most vibrant restaurant scenes in the United States,” as mentioned on Eater. During his time in the D.C. area, Artley helped several restaurants win coveted RAMMY nominations, was a finalist for the “Rising Star Chef” RAMMY Award, and a winner for the “Neighborhood Gathering Place” RAMMY Award. Previously, Executive Chef Artley has been named Best Chef in Northern Virginia. Invitations for Artley’s distinctive cooking style and creative techniques have been extended from such distinguished places such as the White House in the Capital City, the James Beard House in New York City, and as a participant in the Food Network’s Christmas episode of Chopped.
Artley has been featured in several distinguished publications including Eater DC, The Washington Post, Men’s Journal, Tasting Table, Washingtonian Magazine, and Washington Business Journal.
Along with an executive chef curated menu, The Dan will highlight a historically-inspired cocktail selection including specialty drinks like Champagne Cocktail, So We Beat On, and Bourbon Street Blues. The Dan’s signature drink, the Champagne Cocktail, is sure to be a guest favorite – a bubbly concoction topped with fluffy, cotton candy.
