Henry Besant and Dre Masso had already made their names in the bartending industry, winning cocktail competitions every step of the way, when they arrived at Los Altos in Jalisco, México: Tequila country. Right there they met Jesús Hernandez, Maestro Tequilero, who partnered with them to create a tequila not only made the “right” way but also tailored to fulfill their bartending dreams: naturally smooth, high quality, accessible and with a flavor able to cut through complex cocktails with great taste.

In Amatitán, every drop of Código 1530’s offerings – Blanco, Rosa, Reposado, Añejo, and Origen – have been perfected over generations. Código’s process embraces time-honored customs without veering from the traditions of the Los Bajos region, its tequileros, and its jimadors. Código’s tequila begins with fully-matured agave, which is cooked in stainless steel ovens, fermented with yeast, and distilled twice in handmade stills. Código’s Blanco is perfected over a 15-day process while our rested tequilas are meticulously aged in French White Oak red wine barrels from the Napa Valley.

The creation of Avion begins in Jesús María, highlands of Jalisco, where the characteristically sweet roasted agave flavor is preserved in every sip. Avion is slow roasted over three days in traditional brick ovens to ensure the agave is caramelized to perfection and then distilled in small batches to ensure a smooth sipping tequila. The result is a smooth taste and aroma, perfect for sipping on the rocks or in a cocktail.
