Downtown St. Pete’s Largest Block Party Expects Thousands for ‘The Tempests’ Live

Tampa Bay, FLA (July 26, 2019) – This August, First Friday St. Pete is bringing the fun for back-to-school season with a “School’s In” block party on Friday, August 2nd in partnership with Heineken, The Breakfast Optimist Club, Q105, and The City of St. Petersburg. The event is set to take place from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm on Central Ave between 2nd Street and 3rd Street and will feature a live music performance by The Tempests, 15+ local vendors, games, swag, and food and drink specials at participating restaurants. All ages are welcome. 

During the event, guests can donate school supplies and redeem a free beer voucher. The supply drive will benefit Gulfport Elementary, Azalea Middle School, and Pinellas Park Middle School.

FIRST FRIDAY ST PETE:  First Friday St. Pete is a showcase for the great bands, great drinks, and great food that makes St Pete Florida’s most exciting city. Held on the first Friday of every month, the downtown block party is free admission and open to all ages and families. Net proceeds from each event benefit charitable efforts, with a focus on youth education and children’s health. 

THE BREAKFAST OPTIMIST CLUB: The Breakfast Optimist Club is a voluntary organization of civic-minded men and women banding together in the modern tradition of progressive thought and action in community service. The Optimist Club carries the motto, ”Friend of Youth”; optimists conduct positive service projects which reach five million young people each year.
