St. Petersburg, FLA (October 1, 2019) – Actor Chris Tucker brings hysterical comedy tour to Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater on Friday, November 29th at 8:00pm. Actor and comedian, Chris Tucker, is best known for playing Detective James Carter in the commercially successful film, Rush Hour. He started as a standup performer for Def Comedy Jam in the 90s and starred in his first film, Friday, with actor Ice Cube in 1995. He’s also appeared in blockbuster films like Money Talks with Charlie Sheen and The Fifth Element. In 2006, Chris Tucker was named the highest paid actor for his role in Rush Hour 3 which also starred Jackie Chan. When Chris isn’t working, he enjoys spending his time travelling and maintaining his foundation. Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts supports performing arts programming at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater. We provide arts education programs for youth, community outreach programs, and performances as well as concerts for the entire community with emphasis on diverse programming for youth, underserved audiences and families. Each year more than 20,000 school children are provided a field trip experience to learn Florida State curriculum through a live theater performance. This Class Acts Educational Performance series is in its 27th season and serves students from six counties. Additionally, the Foundation ensures that funding is in place to continue providing diverse programming in the theater for the general public.
