Tampa Bay, FLA ( August 5th, 2025) – A fresh new dining destination is arriving in South Tampa this summer, and it’s designed to be a neighborhood favorite for families. Located on MacDill Avenue in the former Datz space, 1983 is a stylish yet approachable all-day restaurant and social hub created to bring people together for great food, relaxed fun, and memorable celebrations.
The name ‘1983’ is the birth year of owners Chas & Kyle Bruck and a nod to a timeless era reflected in the restaurant’s sophisticated, retro-deco design. Subtle touches throughout the space pay homage to the style and spirit of a mid-century country club, balancing nostalgia with comfort and modern elegance. The restaurant hopes to open its doors later this summer with plans to announce the grand opening weekend soon.
“1983 was created to be more than just a restaurant—it’s a place where friends and families come to gather,” said Chas Bruck. “We set out to build a neighborhood social space that brings people together — whether you’re enjoying a casual meal inside, relaxing on the patio while the kids play, or grabbing a quick bite to-go. The game room and indoor-outdoor bar seamlessly connect to a patio that takes on a life of its own. Our goal is for 1983 to become a true neighborhood favorite, much like we achieved with our previous Boca concepts.”
The restaurant features a stylish indoor-outdoor bar, a spacious dining area, a cozy and stylish patio that feels like its own hidden retreat surrounded by greenery and perfect for al fresco dining, casual cocktails, or private gatherings. 1983 also features a private game room equipped with golf simulators and arcade games perfect for entertaining kids, teens, and grown-ups alike. 1983 also features ample parking,with valet option.
Open daily for lunch, and dinner with brunch on the weekends.1983 will feature a diverse menu of modern American dishes with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation. Guests can expect everything from kid-approved classics to inventive takes on brasserie staples—all delivered with the signature quality and care Three Oaks Hospitality is known for. The menu will be published later this summer.
