DJ Flaco Is Back at the Turntables for Another Evening of Soul, Great Eats, and Classic Cocktails at Downtown Tampa’s 1920s-Style Speakeasy
TAMPA, Fla. (October 9th, 2026) – After its debut in September, R&B Saturday is back at The Dan, the on-site restaurant at Hotel Flor. This second installment of the series takes place Saturday, October 24th, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, with an evening of rhythm and blues, both timeless and current.
The Dan sits within the historic Hotel Flor in the center of downtown Tampa. It blends the look and feel of a jazz-age supper club and speakeasy with a menu rooted in coastal Florida flavors. Its refreshed lineup includes shareable plates, salads, and filling entrées. Favorites include dishes such as the Salmon over green pea and basil risotto, Airline Chicken with gouda polenta, and the Pasta Catalina, which pairs ribeye with cheese tortellini in a marsala cream. Steak lovers can choose a 12 oz. Ribeye, a 7 oz. Filet Mignon, or a 12 oz. Dry Aged N.Y. Strip, and the Gochujang Stir Fry offers a vegetable-forward option. The bar draws on history for inspiration, too. The Champagne Cocktail combines bubbly, cognac, bitters, and a touch of cotton candy, while the Bourbon Street Blues mixes bourbon, amaro, and Carpano Antica. On October 24th, the room takes on a smoother, more soulful mood. Visitors can settle in for laid-back grooves, a satisfying meal, and drinks in the company of friends, all while the restaurant’s signature fare keeps coming from the kitchen and bar.
Returning to the booth is DJ Flaco (Marco Sequeira), a fixture of Tampa Bay’s after-dark scene who has spent two decades spinning professionally. His open-format approach lets him glide from Latin and international rhythms to hip-hop, Top 40, dancehall, house, and mash-ups, and it has earned him a loyal following at clubs around the area. He brings that same range and polish to the second R&B Saturday.
R&B Saturday joins The Dan’s growing calendar of live entertainment, which already features jazz performances and music-driven evenings.
