Downtown Tampa’s Historic Hotel Flor Features Live Latin Music, Top Hits, and Jazz Sundays
Ode & Daya, Sammy Smooth Jazz, Andy Marsano and More Take Stage for Brunch and Dinner
TAMPA, Fla. (May 6th, 2026) – Hotel Flor, one of Tampa’s most historic hotels, has announced their May live music series. As the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Dan highlights live performances Thursdays through Sundays, with a variety of performers spanning Latin, jazz, and contemporary hits.
The Dan draws on the spirit of the hotel’s original Sapphire Lounge and the glamour of the Roaring Twenties to offer guests a modern take on the classic American speakeasy. The restaurant pairs Gulf Coast cuisine with handcrafted cocktails in an atmosphere designed to transport guests to a more elegant era. The addition of weekly live music deepens an experience the hotel has been crafting since its earliest days.
To complement the historic ambiance, The Dan has partnered with a premier roster of local talent:
- Sammy Smooth Jazz (Sammy Hanson): A masterful jazz pianist and composer, Sammy is known for his intricate improvisations and soulful “Smooth Jazz” style. A graduate of Florida Atlantic’s Jazz Performance program, he has performed at legendary venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. sammyvanhanson.com
- Ode & Daya: A dynamic duo frequently headlining “Latin Night,” Ode & Daya specialize in high-energy Latin rhythms and contemporary hits, blending cultural heritage with modern flair. @odeanddaya
- Andy Marsano: A seasoned New York transplant, Marsano is a premier “crooner” in the Tampa Bay scene, specializing in the timeless American Songbook and tribute performances to icons like Frank Sinatra. Andy Marsano on Facebook

Sunday brunch at The Dan pairs live music with a menu worth lingering over, served from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Brunch highlights include the Steak & Egg Benedict; a house-cut ribeye topped with a poached egg, hollandaise, and ham on an English muffin; the Smoked Salmon Bagel with avocado, pickled onion, capers, and hard-boiled egg; and the Southern-style Biscuits & Gravy featuring McCormick biscuits with sage, pork sausage, and bacon gravy. Lighter fare includes the Avocado Toast on sourdough with pickled onion, tomato, and feta, as well as the “Flor” Continental with a blueberry muffin, vanilla yogurt, berries, and granola. Garden options include the “Dan” Cobb Salad with artisan greens, bacon, roasted corn, and bleu cheese, and the Sunshine Salad with baby spinach, strawberries, craisins, feta, and champagne vinaigrette. Handhelds, served with ale-battered fries, round out the menu and feature the restaurant’s signature 8oz Wagyu “Dan” Burger. Brunch cocktails keep pace with the laid-back energy of a Sunday afternoon, crisp mimosas and rich, velvety Espresso Martinis made with cold brew and coffee liqueur are the drinks of choice for guests settling in for a Sunday to remember.
The Dan’s newly refreshed dinner menu complements the evening’s ambiance with an array of Gulf Coast-inspired entrees. Highlights include the Pasta Catalina, featuring ribeye and cheese tortellini in a Marsala cream sauce; Airline Chicken with gouda polenta and truffle chili oil; and the 12 oz. Dry Aged N.Y. Strip served with potato fondant and fresh chimichurri. Seafood enthusiasts can enjoy the Branzino with a sun-dried tomato pistou or the Salmon paired with green pea and basil risotto. For those seeking bold vegetarian flavors, the Gochujang Stir Fry offers a vibrant mix of vegetables over pineapple rice.
When the evening calls for something bolder, The Dan’s bar rises to the occasion with (extra) dirty martinis and a full menu of handcrafted cocktails, each one designed to hold its own against a night of live music and bold flavors.
Whether guests come for the music, the meal, or the cocktails, The Dan offers something increasingly rare: a place where all three arrive in equal measure. With live performances running Thursday through Sunday, a kitchen where Executive Chef Jason Revell channels bold, fresh flavors into every dish, and a bar that takes its craft as seriously as the stage, Hotel Flor’s newest chapter is one worth lingering in.
Performances will continue through the coming months. For the most current schedule, visit The Dan’s website or follow on social media at @hotelflortampa and @thedantampa.
All performances are complimentary for dining guests. Reservations for The Dan are recommended and can be made on OpenTable.
